Answer:
Samahatusy Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah bin Baz replied:
"Saying shalawat for Prophet 'alayhi wasallam is a matter that is prescribed. In it there is a lot of benefits. Among the commandments of God, God agreed Subhanallahu Wa ta'ala and His angels are also bershalawat to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, Allah says:
"Verily Allah and His angels bershalawat to the Prophet. O those who believe, bershalawatlah to the Prophet and say hello to him. "(Al-Ahzab: 56)
Another benefit is to double the wage of the bershalawat such, there is hope prayers had been answered, and bershalawat is because obtaining langgengnya blessings and love of the Messenger of Allaah peace and blessings of yours respectfully. As bershalawat the cause of a servant might receive the guidance and living heart. The more someone bershalawat to him sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam and remember beliu, will be more viscous also love to him in the heart. Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam himself has provided advice to wish shalawat over him in several hadith. Among the hadeeth narrated by al-Imam Muslim in his Saheeh from Abu Hurayrah Radhiallahuanhu, that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said:
"Who bershalawat for me one time, God shall bershalawat him ten times."
From the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah anhu also, mentioned that Rasululah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said:
"Do not make your homes like graves (With no sunnah prayer done in it, so did not read the Qur'an in it. (-Ed.)) And do not you make the grave as the id (the place of get-togethers - Ed). Bershalawatlah shalawat for me because you guys up to me wherever you are. "

Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam had also said:
"Terhinalah one that I (my name) called his side but he did not want bershalawat for me."
[HR. Al-Tirmidhi, said Ash-Shaykh Muqbil in Saheeh al-Musnad Ash-Shahihain Mimma Laisa fish, "ghareeb hasan hadeeth."]
Bershalawat to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam tasyahhud prescribed in prayer, the sermon, prayer time and beristighfar. Similarly, after adzan, when exit and enter the mosque, when he heard his name called, and so forth.

Ibn shalah also said, "Let him stay away from any mention two shortcomings in these shalawat:

Al-As-Sakhawi'Allama
Al-As-Sakhawi'Allama in his book Fath Mughits Syarhu Alfiyatil Hadith lil 'Iraqi, said, "Come, O writer, wrote shalawat with abbreviations, with you abbreviate it into two letters and semisalnya, so the shape is less. Conclusion:
Some scholars forbid Truncates greetings and Shalawat. But there is also that allow for readers to know its meaning.
But need to be underlined, mengeneralkan bahwasannya with all the readers know what we mean it's not quite right.
